No-exam life insurance
What applicants typically qualify for immediate decisions, the process behind expedited underwriting, and what happens if you don't qualify.
Many insurance companies now offer accelerated underwriting: they make a decision using your application answers, your prescription history, driving records, and other available data, without requiring a physical exam, provided you fit their age and coverage-amount criteria. In some cases the decision arrives within hours. Each quote on this page notes whether the carrier requires an exam, might request one, or won't need one.
What it changes
Accelerated approval doesn't eliminate underwriting—your answers are still checked and verified. A policy issued based on false information can be challenged within the first two years. The insurer may request an exam or bloodwork if something in their records raises red flags; you'll have the option to proceed or walk away at that stage.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants younger than about 60 who request coverage amounts below the carrier's threshold, with no significant past health issues and no tobacco use for the past year or longer qualify. Some insurers will use recent medical records from a doctor's visit as an alternative to scheduling an exam.
Should an exam be required, a trained medical technician typically comes to your home or workplace in the Menifee area for a 20–30 minute appointment at no charge to you. If your exam results are good, it frequently leads to a better rate tier, so an exam can actually work in your favor.
